Homework - information design
hi! Here is my homework!~ >< ||| I was surfing around on the web and I found this graph. Hope you’ll enjoy looking at it! =)
I’ve attached the PDF ->: atlas143.pdf
Commentary - This graph is about the costs to a smoker. It talks about the cigarette brand “Malboro” the costs of it in different countries, and what items have the equivalent cost to a pack of Malboro. Also it shows minutes of labor work needed to purchase 20 cigarettes in selected cities. In addition it shows countries that -> 20 imported cigarettes costs more than half the average of daily income.
This is a great design, because the designer used a map of the whole world to show the different costs of cigarettes. We can see that some countries next to each other has the same cost. This graph allows us to compare different costs of cigarettes in different countries. You can present the information given on this webpage differently, such as using a bar graph, but it wouldn’t be as interesting and creative.
Also at the bottom of the page, the designer used pictures to represent what can you buy with the money used to by cigarettes, it’s a very creative way to arrange and present the information. Most people get attracted to pictures instead of words, so the way this designer presented the information would attract readers. This graph uses good designs, making it easy to read and attracts people’s attention.
